What You Will Be Doing

  • Organizing and preparing ingredients
  • Measuring ingredients accurately
  • Slicing and dicing vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish
  • Keeping kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations clean and sanitized
  • Assisting in preparing dishes
  • Monitoring inventory levels


What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Cooking or plating dishes unless asked to by the Chef
  • Communicating with customers or taking complaints
  • Managing inventory or ordering supplies directly without notifying the Chef
  • Cleaning tables or dining areas outside of the kitchen


Prep Cook Key Responsibilities


You will assist in the kitchen by preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, measuring out portions, and preparing basic sauces, to ensure the Chefs have everything they need. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards, and helping with other tasks as needed, like setting up workstations and storing food properly. Additionally, you'll assist in monitoring stock levels and informing the Chef when supplies are running low.


Prep Cook Basic Requirements

  • Knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques as well as food preparation
  • Superb organizational skills and a keen eye for details
  • Knowledge of best food safety practices
  • Must be a team player who can work well under pressure
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
