Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join their team for a full time role This role focuses on ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security of networking environments, including cloud-based and on-premise systems. Responsibilities include installing networks, troubleshooting issues, maintaining security, and training end-users. Emphasis is placed on technology modernization, process standardization, and documentation. The ideal candidate should excel in both team and independent settings and provide support to Service Desk Analysts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and improve existing network systems for increased effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, SDWAN appliances, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Manage and maintain VoIP systems and technologies, including call trees, hunt groups, moves/adds/changes, voicemail systems, and DIDs.
  • Interface with and manage relationships with telecommunication vendors.
  • Oversee the complete life cycle of both data and voice circuits, from ordering through provisioning, installation, cut-over, and disconnect.
  • Update and maintain system documentation.
  • Provide support to internal end users, application development staff, and Level 2 support to the Service Desk.


Qualifications & Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as a network engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of tailoring instructions and guidance to the end user's skill level.
  • Proficient in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and other networking protocols, including subnetting, routing, network connectivity, and VoIP.
  • Experienced with telecom vendors, technologies, circuit delivery methods, and on-premise telecom equipment.
  • Skilled in SDWAN and firewall management and troubleshooting, specifically with Fortinet Fortigate appliances.
  • Familiarity with Aruba Wireless APs, ClearPass authentication, and RingCentral Hosted VoIP is a plus.
  • Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems and projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
