Interventional Radiology Tech

2 FTEs 5-days a week shifts vary based on department needs with weekend & weekday on-call requirements.
Duties- Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular, neuro-interventional cases with scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist.
- Strong knowledge with floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
- Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases.
- Critically think during neuro-interventional cases and complex cases to assist proceduralist.
- Operate power injection of iodinated contrast media device during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Strong communication skills using closed loop communication.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures to set up procedural trays for case load.
- Positively contribute to a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, radiologist, and vascular surgeons.
- Knowledge of documentation in electronic medical record and send images to Sectra/PACs system.
- Groin management post intervention.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide high quality care in a fast paced environment.
- BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
- Current licensure with the certification with ARRT NJ state (defined in above JD).
- This role is similar to a cardiovascular technologist (CVT) but MUST have radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities.
- 3-5 years of experience as Interventional Radiologic technologist or a Cardio-Vascular technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Associate degree.
- OR Completion of accredited radiographic program.
Preferred Education:
- N/A
- NJ radiographic licensure.
- BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
- Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
