Required:
- 2-4 years related work experience
- Experience working directly with vendors; generating and monitoring POs; negotiating contract prices; performing supplier analysis. (INTERNAL NOTE: if a supplier is late on shipments – expeditor tracks them down, see what the hold-up is, incentivize them to get up to speed, if issues – renegotiate contracts, work with POs, identify new vendors, etc.)
- Experience with concepts of procurement, logistics, and material control activities
- Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with MS applications, emphasis on Excel
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Dependable vehicle transportation is required
Preferred:
- Education: Associate’s Degree – related field of study (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
Overview
The Procurement Analyst / Expeditor will be responsible for working directly with vendors and suppliers to expedite the supply chain process for our aerospace client. They will be assigned a number of suppliers and will be responsible for followups, reviewing open order books, monitoring Purchase Orders, identifying potential risks and past dues, bringing accounts up to speed, and negotiating current or new contracts as needed. They will manage a large work volume in a fast pace environment; Review each purchase order and suggests proper actions where slippage occurs; Independently negotiate with Suppliers regarding expedite fees, shipping methods, and delivery date improvements with an additional focus on building strong Supplier relationships; Coordinate Supplier touch-points to mediate issues and drive resolutions on our critical items and top revenue drivers; Provides professional customer service support to internal customers through communication, and ensure these internal stakeholders (Buyers, Sales, etc.) have the most up-to-date product information; Works directly with receiving department on resolving issues at point of product receipt; Travels to Supplier locations and fabrication facilities to verify progress and ensure deliveries are occurring as required; Briefs the procurement organization on the results of the Supplier visit.
