We are currently seeking an experienced Project Designer in our Poughkeepsie, NY office. This demanding and fast paced position will require a personable candidate with experience in client service, experience in all phases of architecture and engineering including substantial and varied experience in project planning and design. Coordinates all trades and agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings. Prior experience working for an Architectural/Engineering Consultant or construction related firm is required. The candidate should have extremely strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand project requirements and concepts
  • Use various techniques to create drafts, models and prototypes
  • Gathering the necessary measurements, dimensions, and other routine calculations for design layouts
  • Produce final design solutions
  • Pitch creative ideas
  • Collaborate with team members to launch projects
  • Take on management project tasks (Meeting with clients to discuss the design requirements for new constructions, alterations, or repairs)
  • Interact with other Architects and Designers to exchange ideas and provide support

Requirements

  • Have 5 to 10 years of experience working for an Architectural/Engineering Consultant
  • Experience with public projects (K-12, Higher Ed, Municipalities)
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Bachelors/Master's degree in Architecture
  • Licensure preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Building Codes
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Salary Range: $27 - $35/hr.

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
