GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Raw Sugar Production Supervisor will support the operations, maintenance and production of the Boiling House. This position requires supervising operations of the clarifiers, juice heaters, evaporators and vacuum pans, crystallizers, centrifugal, ancillary pumps, equipment, and facilities within the assigned area of operation. Ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation, maintaining quality control, and handling any operations and employee concerns that may arise.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Oversees daily operations, production and quality metrics providing leadership and guidance to the team and fostering a positive work environment. Managing employee performance through regular feedback and addressing issues.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring production output meets production specifications.
  • Detects issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Identifies process-based variations, adjusts and corrects parameters within acceptable ranges.
  • Assigning responsibilities to team members to support the day-to-day plan and job-related tasks.
  • Trains new employees on how to safely operate process, use machinery and follow procedures.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on process related equipment as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards.
  • Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of the sugar manufacturing process.
  • Experience with sugar manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, HMI, software platforms and process control principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and convey process and maintenance-based information.
  • Must be able to work within a team-based environment and effectively communicate/relate with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent supervisory experience with the ability to direct, coach, support, and delegate.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Good practical experience using a laptop, tablet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of engineering or manufacturing, or a combination of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • 5+ years of raw cane sugar processing and maintenance experience is preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular attendance during scheduled shifts is required.
  • The role requires working in environments with heat, stairs, ramps, uneven surfaces, noise, and dust.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, reaching, and crawling is necessary.
  • Must be capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
