Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and management of the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100D / AS9120B standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the AS9100D / AS9120B QMS.
  • Review AS9102B First Article Inspection reports.
  • Conduct internal and external QMS, product, and process audits.
  • Manage supplier performance related to product quality and root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Collaborate with customers to meet their requirements.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data to determine quality standards and establish KPIs.
  • Oversee document control, ensuring updates and record retention.
  • Manage records for equipment calibration and testing reports.
  • Serve as the quality liaison with customers and third-party auditors.
  • Support internal departments to meet their quality needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Skills and Traits:

  • Ability to read and interpret customer Purchase Orders, contracts, and engineering documents.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to develop and document procedures.
  • Knowledge of company products, bearings, and related hardware.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic measurement skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality control processes.
  • Basic computer skills, including AS400 system usage.
  • Understanding of product numbers and alphanumeric codes.
  • Strong initiative, confidentiality, and deadline management skills.
  • Capable of managing projects and presenting information to managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of experience in Quality in the Aerospace industry.
  • Legal resident of the USA.
  • Familiarity with quality functions in aerospace and defense industries.
  • Proficient in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 / AS9120 quality systems.
  • AS13001 and AS9117 certification is a plus.
  • Additional quality certifications (CQE, CQA, RCCA, etc.) are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in an office setting with occasional exposure to warehouse environments.
