Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is seeking an Aging Care Manager 2 to assist senior citizens with obtaining enriching services and supports in order to lead active and safe lives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Manager 2, you will be trained to assess the needs of older adults, respond and investigate Reports of Need, develop and implement care plans, provide advocacy, and deliver ongoing care management to protect consumers from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for older adults by providing them with access to a range of community and home-based services. We are dedicated to empowering and advocating for the rights of older adults while supporting their family and other caregivers. This position may, at times, require flexible work location/environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You must be able to travel to areas that may or may not be accessible by public transportation.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as an Aging Care Manager 1 or a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • Six months of professional human services or nursing experience; and a bachelor‘s degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lackawanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
