  • 2 years of analytical laboratory experience required.

  • Experience with Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Understands basic IT (Information Technology) concepts (hardware, software, basic networking)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Experience with ICP
  • Will prefer candidates with SAP systems experience
  • Background in LIMS and/or CDS Systems
  • Basic computer programing experience, especially with LIMS (Laboratory Information Systems)
  • 5 years of analytical laboratory experience


Education:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate’s degree in relevant field OR 4+ years military experience required. Chemistry, Engineering or relevant Science preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or relevant Science highly preferred


Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform non-routine and complex analyses
  • Accountable for lab housekeeping and working toward maintaining 5S once implemented
  • Accountable for proper and valid inventory of analytical standards and reagents in laboratories
  • Authorize Final Product samples in LIMS in a timely manner
  • Follow analytical procedures that have been derived from approved company methods or approved industry standards
  • Comply with external quality certifications (ISO certifications, environmental permits, etc.), when applicable
  • Provide input and participate in the plant Management System Review
  • Provide operators training to Perform Routine Analysis and others performing analytical within plant as needed
  • Participate in plant and analytical RCI’s (Root Cause Investigation) as needed
  • Perform non-routine and complex analyses as needed under direction of Analytical Specialist in a timely manner
  • Understand, use, and troubleshoot computer systems for data management (LIMS, etc)
  • Assist in method implementation related to analytical procedures in the lab
  • Responsible for the qualification of analytical instrumentation as defined by the Quality Critical instrument document in a timely manner
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance to operating procedures including plant specific procedures and quality procedures & policies
  • Perform calibration and verification of analytical systems, as required in a timely manner
  • Ensure preventative maintenance, instrument repair, and troubleshooting is performed with the maintenance technician
  • Perform control charting of critical data based on business needs
  • Participate in company Quality Analytical self-assessments
  • Assist in analytical sample plans reviews (Quality Leader will lead sample plan reviews)
  • Assists in lab capital planning
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset that incorporates EHS&S requirements and analytical best practices
  • Have an understanding of process chemistry for supported plants
  • Ensure that proper technical coverage / off-hours assistance is available to operations personnel for plant(s) he/she is responsible for. Communicate with department when employee will be out of the office.
  • Proactively address analytical and product quality problems in timely manner
  • Communicate analytical issues to department leadership when issues impact process or lab safety or product compliance
  • Participates in and supports implementations of new (MET) LIT tools and applications for the site labs.
  • Serves as a liaison between Global LIT and the site for server maintenance, upgrades, outages or other LIT communications and initiatives.
  • Act as the Quality Program subject matter resource, promoting a customer quality focused culture as requested by Quality Leader
