Director Of AccountingThe Director is responsible for the oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. Leads all day-to-day operations and supervises a team that includes functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting. The Director ensures that ForeFront Power has the systems and procedures in place to support effective clean energy project development and conduct timely audits.This position will be based in our San Francisco office, with a hybrid office and work-from-home arrangement. For the exceptional candidate, remote work outside the Bay Area will be considered with monthly travel to the San Francisco office. The Director reports to the CFO and works closely with the executive committee members, leadership team, department heads, and staff to provide education regarding accounting procedures and explores how the accounting function can support operations. The Director, Accounting directly manages the accounting team and accounts payable team.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting and accounts payable teamsAssist the FP&A team for P&L and cash forecasting and the tax team for income tax estimates (both federal and SALT)Lead and manage the accounting and accounts payable staff, ensuring a high level of performance and productivityAdvise the project finance team on accounting implications of potential transaction structures to optimize business outcomesOversee audit activities of ForeFront Power and its affiliatesAnalyze financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitors progress and changes and keeps executives abreast of ForeFront Power's financial statusOversee all accounting and financial reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirementsQualifications10+ years of experience in accountingThorough understanding of US GAAP and IFRSStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skillsRenewable energy and/or infrastructure finance experienceExcellent leadership and people management skillsExtremely proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skillsDemonstrated analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex data for a variety of audiencesSolid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and accounting for fixed assets and investmentsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, Master's degree is a plusPhysical DemandsThis position is primarily sedentary in nature and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer.Work Environment And CultureThe organization promotes an open and collaborative work atmosphere.
