Position: Blue Yonder/JDA SCPO Engineer

Location: Deerfield, IL – 3 days a week on-site (hybrid)

Perm Salary: $165k-$175k + 10% bonus

Interview Process: 3 phase interview, behavioral with hiring manager, then a technical interview, and then meeting with architects.

Why Open: Build an engineering team in-house. Over the years client has outsourced more and more to contractors and they want to build an engineering organization and own it inhouse with FTEs.

Must Haves:

  • Products they use are SCPO Fulfillment, Order Optimization, Inventory Optimization (will still look at someone with fulfillment) – undersatnding the ins and outs of the product itself, understanding how the database works, how to configure different data streams to import them and export them from the product, how to think creatively around how to enhance the overall solution since you can’t change the product itself. How are they sending the data in in a way that can achieve their objectives. A lot of creative thinkng about “I can set this up in JDA and feed in this data and somehow get X out of it that we want”

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field
  • Experience writing code for moderately complex applications
  • Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications
  • Experience designing/building moderately complex applications/automation
  • Experience writing automation test or deployment scripts
  • Experience creating/coding scripting solution to fix moderately complex problems
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Day to Day :

A build position – we’re trying to do enhancements projects to improve how they order into their stores and Distribution centers. The projects that come along could be anywhere to a month to a year long, this person will juggle multiple projects because the BY skillset is needed for pieces of each projects, and because they can’t change much of BY (just configure, set up user data), a lot of it is working with the integration team to come up with creative ways to feed data in differently to the product to make it behave differently. Sometimes it’s architecture and design more than anything else. Knowing how to write shell scripts, configuring the tool itself, creating user defined screens, tables, and columns (UI). Customize and configure to meet the business requirements.

This role is developing design skills, but has a comprehensive understanding of the organization's current software application and tools. Has in-depth knowledge of programming languages important to the organization and is proficient with them. Receives work in the form of short- and mid-term assignments that regularly require the application of independent judgement. Mentors less experienced members of the team.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of the professional function and in-depth specialization in some. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise to exchange semi-complex information related to assigned activities.

Compensation:

$165,000 to $175,000 per year annual salary.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
