Position Overview:

The Estimator at my clients firm is integral to their estimation team, responsible for providing precise cost analyses and detailed estimates that underpin their project planning and execution. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with seasoned estimators to develop preliminary cost assessments, interpret intricate plans and specifications, and ensure rigorous adherence to project requirements. The role demands exceptional analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpretation & Analysis: Meticulously analyze and interpret construction plans and materials to generate and verify cost estimates
• Preliminary Estimation: Support senior estimators in formulating preliminary estimates for conceptual and early-stage projects
• Deviation Management: Identify and address discrepancies between proposals and actual scope, specifications, and project requirements.
• Pricing Development: Collaborate with estimating teams to create comprehensive pricing schedules and contribute to the proposal development process
• Risk Analysis: Conduct in-depth risk assessments related to program costs, identifying potential financial impacts and providing strategic recommendations.
• Reporting: Generate detailed reports reflecting economic evaluations of key indicators, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
• Estimate Preapproval: Assist in the preapproval process of estimates, utilizing available project scope information and historical data.
• Post-Project Analysis: Perform cost analysis on completed projects, offering insights into competitive bidding and contract negotiations.
• Model Development: Develop and maintain robust cost estimation models to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Documentation: Prepare and draft technical reports, subcontracts, purchase orders, project updates, and proposals with a high level of precision and clarity.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Construction Management, Operations Research, or a closely related field.
• Experience: 0-5 years of relevant experience in a junior estimating role is preferred; industry certifications are advantageous.
• Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated organizational prowess and an exceptional eye for detail. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in interpreting complex plans and construction materials; adept in relevant software applications (specific software knowledge, if applicable
• Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly and effectively.
