Outlier is a platform that connects subject matter experts to help build the world’s most advanced Generative AI. You will work on a variety of projects from generating training data in your discipline to advance these models to evaluating performance of models.

As an Remote Online Math Teacher for AI, you'll rate, review, and rewrite responses from AI models to enhance their accuracy, just as a teacher would for a student. No prior AI experience is needed. You'll join a community of teachers & experts working on the intersection of math & AI. This is a 100% fully remote opportunity where you'll enjoy a flexible choose-your-own-schedule with incredible work-life balance, all from the comfort of your own home.

Required: No prior AI experience is needed but candidates must be enrolled or completed enrollment in a mathematics or related program, or have relevant experience.

Earnings:

  • Hourly rate: up to $50 per hour USD, depending on your level of expertise

Responsibilities:

  • Train AI models by creating and answering questions related to your field
  • Evaluate and rank responses generated by AI
  • Leverage your domain expertise to assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Junior or Senior undergraduates enrolled in a mathematics or related program
  • Preferred: Graduate student, Master, PhD, or equivalent proficiency in mathematics or a related-field
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in writing
  • Able to verify educational & professional Information via our partner, Checkr

Nice to Have:

  • Professional writing experience as a researcher, journalist, technical writer, editor, or similar roles
  • Solid subject matter knowledge in other Math subfields
  • Interest in AI and machine learning concepts

Additional Note:

This is a freelance position that is paid on a per-hour basis. We don’t offer internships as this is a freelance role. You also must be authorized to work in your country of residence, and we will not be providing sponsorship since this is a 1099 contract opportunity. However, if you are an international student, you may be able to sign up if you are on a visa. You should contact your tax/immigration advisor with specific questions regarding your circumstances. Base pay is determined by multiple factors, including the area of expertise, years of experience, and skillset needed for the project. Pay rates vary during the project lifecycle. For example, rates for onboarding are lower.
