The Packer Collegiate Institute seeks passionate, experienced, and creative Lower School Head Teachers for potential opportunities in First - Fourth grade.
Anticipated start date: August 2024
Emphasizing the development of a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom community, Lower School Head Teachers provide general classroom instruction in literacy, math, and social studies to approximately twenty-two students. Head Teachers play a key role in supporting and mentoring full-time Associate Teachers.
Lower School Head Teachers collaborate closely with colleagues within and across grade levels as well as special area teachers and administration. Partnership with families is valued and teachers demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Lower School faculty develop rich, authentic learning experiences that encourage children to "Think Deeply, Listen Purposefully, Speak Courageously, and Act with Purpose and Heart."
A Master's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is required, and previous experience as a head teacher is highly preferred.
