Job Description:

  • The Client is seeking a senior technical Project Scrum Master to drive the project delivery of the development and implementation of a cloud-based data management platform that will support the agency’s data management needs.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective cloud-based solutions for complex data management problems.
  • The candidate must have data security, cloud infrastructure, with knowledge of transportation related data preferred.

The selected candidate will:

  • Drives consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle, including project plans, release plans, resource allocation, and management of project risks, Product, schedule, and delivery of value.
  • Coordinates Agile Ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning.
  • Tracks and communicates project's progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team, stakeholders, and management.
  • Establishes an environment where the teams can be effective and helps remove obstacles.
  • Protects the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
  • Ensures a good relationship between the team and product owner as well as others outside the team.
  • Tracks and reports team velocity and other project metrics.
  • Promotes continuous improvement and helps teams to increase productivity.
  • Helps Product Owner and team with Product backlog management.
  • Adheres to client’s project management practices as defined.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and support data management needs.
  • Ensure data is collected, stored, and processed securely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support decision-making by project management teams.
  • Provide training and support for end-users to ensure the platform is used effectively.
  • Demonstrable capability and experience in planning, implementing and maintenance of local master data systems and processes across business units and functions.
  • Understanding of data and leveraging it to deliver business value. Ability to discuss requirements with data teams
  • Experience in data governance concepts, and data governance implementations.
  • Ability to use agile approach and methodology to drive master data governance processes.
  • Ensure documentation of requirements and uses cases, facilitate design workshops for assigned projects.
  • Ensure definition of test objectives, design test plans and test cases for assigned project.
  • Provide the management of project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Define, measure, and clearly communicate progress with metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of Agile project management principles and practices.
  • Experience managing cloud-based solutions for data management and analytics.
  • Ability to work with customers, understand their business practices and manage their expectations.
  • Ability to set clear performance standards and hold team members accountable, while keeping team engaged and on track.
  • Ability to help Product Owners to create and prioritize Product Backlog.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze and document business and system processes.
  • Ability to balance the competing demands for quality, Product, schedule, and cost.
  • Well-versed with Scrum and Kanban Agile methodologies.
  • PMP and CSM Certifications required.
  • SAFe Certification preferred.
  • Experience with SAFe framework is a plus.
