JOB DESCRIPTION:

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our client’s DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.


The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

·      Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.

·      Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) (required).

·      10+ years of engineering work experience including:

o  Designing HVAC and plumbing systems.

o  Managing and designing multiple concurrent projects.

o  Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.

o  Leading design team efforts.

o  Managing project team for budget and schedule control.

o  Experience with Load Calculation Software.

o  Working knowledge of REVIT and CAD.

o  Developing fee and qualification-based proposals.

o  Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.

o  Active local industry involvement is a plus.

·      Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.

·      Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.

·      Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.

·      Energy modeling experience is a plus.

·      Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

·      Excellent time management skills.

·      Ability to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.

·      Ability to travel periodically.
