Position: Legal Practice Assistant Location: New Jersey Office A leading law firm is currently seeking a skilled and proactive Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) to join its New Jersey office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide high-level administrative and legal support to attorneys across multiple practice areas, including Bankruptcy, Corporate, Environmental, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates. Position Summary: The Legal Practice Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of attorneys and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the legal teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of legal administrative experience in a law firm or legal department setting, with a proven track record of managing a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and associates across multiple practice groups. Manage and maintain attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, court dates, and client appointments. Prepare and revise correspondence, legal documents, and presentations with accuracy and attention to detail. Handle filing and document management, both electronically and in physical format. Assist with time entry, expense reporting, and billing processes. Coordinate travel arrangements and handle related logistics for attorneys. Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and other parties as needed. Ensure that all administrative processes are executed efficiently and with a high level of professionalism. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a legal assistant or legal secretary within a law firm or corporate legal department. Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, particularly in the areas of Bankruptcy, Corporate, Environmental, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff at all levels. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong sense of confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with document management systems, such as iManage, is preferred. Familiarity with InTapp or other legal workflow tools is a strong plus. Work Environment: This position operates in a professional legal office setting. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team, while demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
