About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Electrical Technician to support and maintain the electrical infrastructure across our data center campuses. This role involves working with both large-capacity facilities and smaller data centers, ensuring all electrical systems are operational and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Infrastructure Support: Manage and maintain electrical systems within data centers, including handling Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) shutdowns for power meter replacement, and master controller shutdowns or replacements.
- Building Management Systems: Utilize building management systems (EPMS) to monitor and control electrical infrastructure, ensuring system integrity and performance.
- Power Interruption Testing: Conduct Power Interruption Testing (PIT) to assess system reliability and readiness.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to the National Electrical Code and ensure all safety protocols are followed, including holding OSHA or NFPA 70E certifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and system changes, using Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience or applied learning in technical fields such as automotive, electrical systems, controls, or data centers. Previous experience in data centers or similar high-availability environments (e.g., oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities) is highly desirable.
- Certifications: OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification required. Qualified Electrical Worker status preferred.
- Technical Skills: Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Work Schedule: Flexibility to work various shifts, including 12-hour shifts, rotating schedules, and different numbers of workdays per week.
