In this role, you will work as part of a team, perform tasks and execute projects related primarily to evaluation of building component and material failures, with particular emphasis on concrete and other cement-based materials. Applicant will have the opportunity to work on a variety of diverse and interesting civil engineering projects that will challenge their problem-solving skills. Applicant will also have the opportunity to work and collaborate on projects with Exponent professionals practicing in the other 90+ technical disciplines within the company; some of these projects are outside of the traditional civil engineering area.You Will Be Responsible ForConducting field inspections and determining the root causes of failuresConducting laboratory testing and analysesGathering information and conveying complex technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industryYou Will Have The Following Skills And QualificationsPh.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering with graduate level focus on concrete and cementitious materials3+ years of industry experience post-PhDExcellent and creative problem solving abilityOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as lead and work in multi-disciplinary teamsStrong desire to work in a fast-paced consulting environmentP.E. or S.E. license or the ability to become licensed within two years in the State of CaliforniaPresently legally authorized to work in the United States. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
