Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Training
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to fellow Nurse Practitioners (NPs) within our Nevada practice
  • Conduct orientation and training sessions for newly onboarded NPs
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of other NPs and offer support when necessary
  • Participate in the hiring process, manage personnel decisions, and handle disciplinary actions for NPs
  • Participate in Gradual Dose Reduction meetings to evaluate the use of psychotropic drugs and ensure proper utilization with nursing home patients


Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial psychiatric assessments on new patients to diagnose mental health conditions
  • Prescribe medications and formulate treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders
  • Administer ongoing medication management, closely monitoring and adjusting dosages as required
  • Provide patient education and counseling to enhance mental health understanding and assist patients and families in coping with mental health challenges
  • Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation for all patient interactions to meet regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular assessments of patient progress and adapt treatment plans as needed
  • Perform cognitive assessments and develop associated care plans
  • Conduct capacity evaluations


Facility and Staff Management

  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with facilities and their staff to ensure the seamless delivery of services
  • Offer coverage during the absence of other NPs to ensure uninterrupted patient care
  • Consult on complex cases to uphold the highest standards of care
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Hold a Master's degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Possess certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Maintain an active, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Washington
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex medical information to patients and their families
  • Exhibit the capability to work independently while fostering effective collaboration with fellow healthcare providers
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years experience as a practicing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • This is an Onsite, In-person position, candidate must be willing to travel to various facilities throughout the Spokane region

  • Proficient in basic computer usage
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR Systems, (experience in AthenaOne considered a plus)
