The positions require a doctoral degree in Couple/Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related mental health field, licensed (or license eligible) as a marriage and family therapist in Florida (LMFT), and AAMFT Approved Supervisor status or eligibility. Required experience includes demonstrated leadership in teaching, research/scholarship, and community service; clinical couple/marriage and family therapy skills; supervision and mentoring of students; research knowledge and background in qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a marriage and family therapist in Florida (LMFT) OR AAMFT Approved Supervisor status or demonstrated eligibility.
Required Education: Doctoral Degree
The Department of Couple Family Therapy offers an M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy, a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy, a Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (D.M.F.T.), and a B.S. in Health and Wellness Coaching, all of which are campus-based ( at the NSU Main Campus, Fort Lauderdale, Florida). The department also offers concentrations in Medical Family Therapy, Solution Focused Coaching, and Equine-Assisted Family Therapy.
The successful candidate will teach in all the programs, contribute to fostering diversity of the campus, curriculum, and discipline, participate in faculty clinical practice at our onsite clinic, provide student supervision, advising and mentoring, and be on dissertation and applied clinical projects committees. The department has an on-site community clinic with state-of-the-art technology and one-way mirrors. The Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) accredits the M.S., D.M.F.T., and Ph.D. programs.
