Job Description:

  • We seek a dynamic and experienced PM Tech Writer to join our team. This role involves a combination of project management responsibilities along with technical writing expertise. The successful candidate will oversee team collaboration, ensuring effective communication between Development, QA, Product Management, and other groups. The individual will be responsible for planning, researching, writing, and revising both printed and online documentation, including overviews, tutorials, installation/configuration instructions, training materials, and API documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Collaboration: Oversee collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, and Product Management, to plan, research, write, and revise technical documentation.
  2. Document Preparation: Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, covering software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  3. Information Gathering: Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
  4. Documentation Editing: Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users.
  5. Project Planning: Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables.
  6. Document Library Management: Maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and external use.
  7. Template Management: Publish and maintain templates for various written documentation, ensuring a consistent "look and feel" across different documents.
  8. Policy and Procedure Establishment: Establish team policies and procedures, conforming to existing styles, policies, and procedures.
  9. Peer Editing and Review: Oversee peer editing and production review work to ensure high-quality documentation.
  10. Use Case Integration: Integrate use case and functional data into user documentation and examples.
  11. API Documentation: Possess familiarity with API documentation and the ability to work with code samples to understand the needs of API consumers.
  12. Feedback Handling: Efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on published content from both customers and internal support representatives.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with API documentation and working with code samples.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in maintaining documentation libraries and templates.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
