Job Title: IT Senior Project ManagerLocation: Columbia, SC (I-20 @ Alpine Road) Work Arrangement: Partial Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite (and as needed) Contract Duration: 11 months with possible extension Hours: 40 hours per week | 8 hours per day Screening: Credit check required (Information Systems category)Must haves: Strong IT project management experience with MS Project, Agile/Waterfall expertise, excellent communication, budgeting and client-facing skills, and active PM certifications (PMP/CAPM/Scrum/SAFe), with ability to lead multiple concurrent projects onsite TueThuPosition OverviewThe IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of multiple project-oriented work efforts. This role manages medium-scale projects with moderate complexity, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budgeted hours, quality standards, and ISSM methodology. Team members collaborate cross-functionally and serve as proactive problem-solvers who go above and beyond to support high-need clients.Core FunctionsClient Relationship Management: Primary contact for key accounts, ensuring consistent and proactive communication.Issue Resolution & Escalation: Troubleshoot and resolve client issues promptly while coordinating with internal teams.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, and support teams to advocate for client needs and drive strategic initiatives.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage the overall stability of project work efforts.Oversee multiple moderate-scale projects simultaneously with varying levels of scope and system impact.Adhere to project management methodologies, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.Monitor project plans, assignments, and work efforts daily.Assign resources appropriately and escalate issues related to timeline, quality, or functionality.Track key milestones and adjust plans as needed.Lead projects from initiation to final implementation and business acceptance.Detailed Responsibilities25% Planning & DocumentationDevelop and monitor project plans, risk management plans, and documentation from scope through post-implementation.Ensure documentation and deliverables are complete, within scope, and compliant with ISSM standards.20% Scope, Budget & Resource ManagementIdentify items impacting scope, budget, risk, or resources.Monitor and assign resource needs.Manage project hours and budget allocation.20% Project CommunicationsDevelop and maintain clear and effective communication across all project stakeholders.Facilitate meetings, status reports, project documentation, and correspondence.20% Issue Identification & ResolutionAssess issues affecting project scope or resource requirements.Manage issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.Communicate scope changes and impacts to senior management.15% Audit & ComplianceEnsure all project documentation meets required audit standards using ISSM methodology.Required Skills & AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.Advanced leadership in team and project environments.Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.Deep knowledge of project management principles, information systems, and business processes.Ability to lead multiple multidisciplinary teams across project lifecycles.Strong negotiation and presentation skills.Strong grasp of strategic thinking and project triple-constraint analysis (scope, time, cost).Required TechnologiesProficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools.Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments with shifting priorities.Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and technical skills.Budget management experience.Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.One or more certifications: PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, SAFe Agile.Required Education & ExperienceEducationBachelors Degree OR4 years of job-related work experience OR2 years of job-related experience + Associates degree.Work Experience5 years of IT experience in a leadership capacity, including leading two or more concurrent project teams.Completion of the clients Project Management Training Program may substitute for one year of experience.Preferred QualificationsBachelors in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.PMP Certification (Preferred).Work EnvironmentFast-paced, dynamic workplace requiring flexibility.May require 247 responsiveness depending on technical needs.
