The Network Engineer will operate as part of a department of like-minded technology employees, and as such, requires a team-oriented approach. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing FSFCU local and wide area networks. They will also ensure the functionality, stability and integrity of voice, data, video, and wireless network services. You will be able to use your skills and learning opportunities to manage the organization’s switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and server infrastructure to achieve these goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Configure and deploy LAN’s, WAN’s, VPN’s, telecom and wireless networks.
  • Manage and maintain firewalls, switches, SAN’s, wireless hardware/software, and other hardware as required.
  • Plan, design, and develop local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
  • Maximize network efficiencies by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades/updates.
  • Develop, implement and document network diagrams, policies and procedures.
  • Make recommendations for the improvement of network services.
  • Collaborate with associates within the Technology Department to ensure a high level of reliability and performance for end users.
  • Actively participate in managing all network security solutions.
  • Perform system design and capacity planning.
  • Manage vendor relationships regarding network services, support, products and service contracts.
  • Take a collaborative role in design, development, implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Research networking technologies and seek training opportunities to stay abreast of industry developments.
  • Support virtual environment, including Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
  • Provide Technology support coverage as tier 2/3, answering phones and on-call technical support as needed.
  • Required to participate in First Source Federal Credit Union events as well as designated Community events.
  • Assist with audits and examination planning by keeping records and properly maintaining a safe and secure computing environment.
  • Assist in supporting Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.


Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience with LAN, WAN and WLAN design and implementation.
  • Experience working in Finance, Banking or other high volume, complex, demanding customer-oriented IT environments preferred.
  • Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
  • Routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP and static routing.
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of firewall technologies and VPN configuration. Palo Alto Networks experience preferred.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
  • Strong understanding of OSI model, IP subnetting, and VLAN architectures.
  • DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Good communications skills.
  • A professional appearance and ability to work flexible hours.
