An aerospace client is looking for a Mechanical Drafter who will draft and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in the field of mechanical engineering.


Location: Northridge, CA 91324 (Onsite)

Position: Mechanical Drafter

Pay Rate: $46/hr. on W2

Duration: 6 months or longer


Responsibilities:

  • Drafts and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in the field of mechanical engineering.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design software such as PTC/CREO, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Siemens NX.
  • Incorporates redlines and revises drawings utilizing standard engineering drafting practices and PLM.
  • Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve product quality or facilitates manufacturing operations.


Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related experience. Will accept a bachelors or higher degree plus at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Previous work history with mechanical drafting in the Defense Industry
  • Experience using:
  • o ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
  • o PTC/CREO
  • o Siemens Teamcenter
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with envelope drawings as it pertains to CCA design and development.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and integration within systems. (motors, sensors, actuators, etc…)
  • Experience with cable/harness drawings
  • Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
  • Experience with detailed tolerance analyses
  • A US Gov't Secret clearance
  • Self-Starter familiar with dynamic work environments.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).
  • Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)
