Job Description:

As a Sales Specialist at Luthi & Associates Inc., you will be responsible for marketing, selling, and prospecting American Family Insurance products across all lines. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, assessing their insurance needs, and providing tailored solutions to protect their assets. You will also promote brand awareness through participation in agency and community events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the insurance industry.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and recommend appropriate insurance coverage for personal and business clients.
  • Develop and present insurance proposals/quotations to clients, highlighting the benefits and features of our products.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, processing policy changes, and handling claims.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions and policy information in our CRM system.
  • Comply with underwriting guidelines and contact appropriate divisions for underwriting guidance when needed.
  • Develop and stay up to date on local market dynamics for business development opportunities across all product lines.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and participate in training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Proactively cross-sell or coordinate with agency team members to provide additional coverage to existing customers.
  • Prospect for new business through leads, telephone calls, networking events, trade shows, and personal contacts (includes leads through COI, social media, B2B and B2C networks, and sales lead groups).
  • Secure new business through individual efforts and established lead methods.
  • Ability to work independently to plan, set priorities, and organize work.
  • Active involvement in the local community.
  • Demonstrated sales and customer service experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Experience with PC software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, etc.).
  • Experience using a wide range of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers.
  • Experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, and LinkedIn.


Company and Brand Promotion:

  • Develop, maintain, and cultivate community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
  • Participate in events designed to promote brand awareness and educate consumers.


Insurance Service:

  • Retain existing customers by providing industry-leading customer experiences.
  • Ensure completion of requested account and policy updates and changes.
  • Coordinate the involvement of appropriate agency and/or business partners when necessary to resolve customer issues.


Knowledge and Skill Development:

  • Continually improve knowledge in areas of specialization, insurance industry, products, underwriting requirements, sales, customer service, and supporting technology.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional designation programs.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and principles.
  • Effective multi-line insurance prospecting and sales experience.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Property & Casualty insurance license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, policies, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.


Education/Licenses/Designations:

  • Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance products. The following lines of authority are required for this position: Property; Casualty; and Life; (Health is optional).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
