Taylor Derrick Capital (TDC) is an SEC Registered Investment Adviser that provides debt and equity capital for real estate projects throughout the Western United States. Since its inception in 2011, TDC has funded over $3.0B in debt and equity. TDC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Title/Loan Funding Assistant to join its professional, dynamic team in the Henderson, NV office.


The Title/Loan Funding Assistant supports the Director of Loan Funding in preparing loan transactions for closing of escrow and completing loan closing due diligence in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing loan documentation, security instruments and reconveyances

• Analyze and evaluate title commitment encumbrances/defects; plan and carry out processes for correcting and clearing title issues

• Communicate with title insurance and insurance company representatives, escrow processors, real estate agents, customers, etc., to ensure that all conditions are met before closing

• Liaise with the underwriting team to ensure that all due diligence has been completed and all documents are in order for timely loan closings

• Review and manage loan documents, including coordinating receipt from third parties

• Organize and maintain physical and electronic loan documents and files; review for accuracy and completion

• Create spreadsheets and other means of tracking loan information, document receipt and verification, and related activity in compliance with loan due diligence

• Keep the Director of Loan Funding fully informed on all loan files; ensure Director of Loan Funding is fully informed and aware of all relevant information whenever contacting customers and other loan file contacts

• Ensure individual tasks and department deadlines are met (or exceeded) as assigned utilizing project management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

• Coordinate other pre-closing and post-closing activities as needed

• Complete data entry, handle incoming calls and draft internal and external communications, including formal emails, letters, memos, forms, etc.

• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned


Professional Skills & Qualifications

• General working knowledge of title, closing concepts, practices and procedures for real estate transactions

• Comprehension of title insurance and underwriting practices a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Quality conscious with acute attention to detail in document review

• Highly organized, with document control and project management skills

• Ability to manage high volume transactions, working on multiple files quickly and accurately by utilizing strong problem solving, time management and multitasking skills

• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment

• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Ability to create documents, templates and reports for executive review

• Ability to professionally manage challenging situations and resolve closing issues quickly

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work well with customers and as a member of a team

• Willingness to learn new tasks and take on additional responsibilities; seeks development and growth opportunities

• Handles confidential information with discretion


Experience & Education

• Minimum two years of residential or commercial escrow assistant and/or title experience required

• Minimum two years of administrative and/or related professional work experience required, four years preferred

• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, proficiency required

• Nevada Notary commission (license may be obtained after hire)

• High school diploma required, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
