Remote Pharmacy Accreditation Surveyor (Contract Position – East and West Coast)
The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) is a nationally recognized entity in providing DMEPOS and pharmacy accreditation. BOC is seeking to hire two contract-based positions (West and East Coast) to assist with our pharmacy accreditation program.
The BOC Pharmacy site surveyor plays an important role in the success of the accreditation program for BOC. The BOC site surveyor is the only individual that the supplier will meet in person during the accreditation process. Therefore, the BOC site surveyor is the ambassador of the organization. The surveyor makes numerous important observations during an onsite survey which assists in the determination of whether or not a supplier is granted accreditation.
The Pharmacy Accreditation Surveyor will be responsible for reviewing documentation submissions and onsite surveys for community pharmacies in support of evaluating compliance with standards requirements for obtaining accreditation.
Specific job functions:
- Review standards and survey checklist to become knowledgeable of survey requirements.
- Conduct virtual reviews of document submissions from pharmacies to meet standards. Ability to interpret submissions for compliance with standards relative to survey review criteria. Documents and makes notation on any deficiencies relative to meeting standards.
- Conducts onsite pharmacy reviews to audit operations and processes relative to compliance with standards.
- Provides interpretation of standards to ensure compliance with evidence and documentation submitted.
- Obtains evidence and documentation in support of compliance with the standards. Appropriately files documentation in tracking system. Documents assessment of compliance or gaps in meeting standards.
- Drafts final survey review document for submission to facility accreditation team.
- Conducts reviews in a professional manner and provides timely submission of completed survey document review.
- Self manages travel schedule to meet requirements for site review and timely submission of survey audit.
- Ability to be a team player to the other surveyors in the group.
Requirements: PharmD or RPh degree and recent community pharmacy experience. Basic computer knowledge and skills uploading documents.
The Pharmacy Accreditation Surveyor will be knowledgeable of community pharmacy operations, patient care management and quality improvement plan relative to pharmacy functions. Preference for pharmacist with auditing or surveying experience relative to compliance with state/federal requirements and/or pharmacy accreditation programs.
Hours: M-F flexible hours.
Location: East or West region coverage.
Travel: Travel by auto, train or plane.
Pay: $500 per survey report.
