Houston, United States Lyte Fiber, LLC Full time

Position Description:

Lyte Fiber, LLC (“Lyte”) is seeking an accomplished and experienced telecommunications operations leader to fill the role of PMO Director. Lyte is a private-equity backed fiber broadband start-up with ambitious plans to scale and expand its FTTH, SMB and MDU business lines across multiple regions.  The Director of PMO will be joining an experienced team that brings decades of fiber broadband, infrastructure and technology experience with a proven track record of building and growing highly successful businesses.

The Director of PMO is a key leadership role that will oversee the successful delivery of projects across the organization that align with Lyte Fiber’s strategic objectives. The PMO will serve as the central hub driving key initiatives while providing project management services to the overall organization.  The Director will have direct oversight and responsibility for the Enterprise, Construction and IT project management organization, as well as work in close collaboration with the Network Development organization to provide end-to-end support in order to ensure a robust market pipeline that aligns with business objectives.  The Director of PMO will also provide weekly companywide status on major initiatives, critical milestones and operational progress updates.  The goal of the PMO organization, though, is to actively drive progress within Lyte Fiber, not solely report on status. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and best practices. The Director of PMO will ensure that all projects are aligned with the company’s objectives and delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.  This position requires a results-driven leader with excellent organizational and communication skills who can execute in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Recruit, hire, train and manage a program and project management team that oversees strategic projects and key initiatives.

·       Develop an Enterprise PMO team that ensures the project management office is a resource for the entire Lyte Fiber organization.  The support provided may extend to projects with a company-wide impact as well as those requiring assistance at the departmental level.

·       Develop the Construction PMO team that oversees all aspects of the fiber build plan to ensure weekly, monthly and yearly passings objectives are met. This requires project oversight, starting from the market planning phase and extends through OSP design, permitting, construction, go-live and ultimately project closeout that includes project budget to actual reporting.

·       Develop the IT PMO team that can be responsible for managing the successful implementation of mission-critical IT through project inception, implementation, maintenance and system evolution. The project team will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and implementation of the IT systems while ensuring the end user business requirements and processes are successfully documented, adopted and implemented.

·       Work hand in hand with network planning to ensure there is a strong pipeline of markets in each phase of the funnel to achieve our YOY annual fiber growth plans. Prepare market specific presentations for senior management to review and gain approval through the key phases of the funnel.

·       Lead the weekly PMO call that provides status on companywide initiatives to provide project updates while fostering a collaborative working environment that focuses on expedited resolutions and removal of roadblocks.

·       Lead the PMO team, provide guidance and support to project managers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sense of urgency.

·       Work with department leaders to prioritize projects based on strategic goals and resource availability.

·       Develop and employ strategies to bring alignment and true partnership between the business stakeholders at Lyte Fiber.

·       Establish, implement, and enforce standardized project management methodologies, processes, and tools.

·       Evaluate and select the appropriate tools and applications to enhance our project management capabilities.

·       Establish governance standards and processes to manage projects effectively.

·       Identify resource needs and work with department leaders to secure necessary resources.

·       Oversee the allocation of resources across projects to ensure efficient utilization within the PMO and across departments

·       Provide oversight and direction for all projects within the PMO, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

·       Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project performance and PMO effectiveness.

·       Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder briefings.

·       Identify potential risks and issues across projects and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure proactive risk management practices are in place.

·       Provide guidance and support to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

·       Prepares regular, thorough and articulate executive summaries for senior leadership on project and team performance.
