Retail Success is looking for a Software Development Manager (Hybrid in Overland Park, KS) to lead our dynamic software development team in the design, development, and implementation of our software solutions. Reporting directly to the Co-Founders and working closely with our Chief Product Officer, this role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time.

Qualifications:

  • This is a hybrid position based in Overland Park, Kansas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required;
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience in software development, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role required;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time, with verifiable results. 
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with our tech stack preferred: .Net, C#, React, native iOS and Android, RESTFul API’s, SQL Server.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of software developers: hybrid/Kansas Office, fully remote, and supplemented by nearshore and offshore resources.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Provide regular and constructive performance feedback.

Project Management

  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.

Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team.
  • Ensure the use of best practices in software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions.

Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate and improve development processes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Implement and maintain agile methodologies to optimize team efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the development process.
