Job description:

The TIBCO Architect is part of a diverse team within the Enterprise Technology Operations Org. You will work on the design, planning, implementation, and support of OnPrem and Cloud based compute infrastructure and application ecosystem. Ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.


This position will provide maintenance (application support) of enterprise shared services using Tibco Suite of Products includes Tibco Business Works (BW), Tibco Active Spaces (AS) and Tibco EMS and support API management system Apigee.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs moderately advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems.
  • Expertise in performance tuning TIBCO BW applications.
  • Strong working knowledge on TIBCO Admin, scripts, deployments, debugging features, security certificates.
  • May troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex system and software failures and conflicts.
  • Performs installation, configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Serve as a technical resource, actively participating in requirements elicitation and documentation processes with stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to the design, review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions for existing and new software products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the gathering and documentation of technical implementation proposals and design documentation, collaborating with stakeholders to define objectives and scope.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to users, stakeholders, and delivery teams, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. (examples)
  • Ability to provide clear handoffs and instructions to outsourced resources.
  • Proactively ensures the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.
  • Acts as a team lead to System Engineer I and System Engineer II.
  • Develop and maintain useful documentation for application or infrastructure procedures.
  • Contribute to continual improvement by suggesting changes/efficiencies to standards and automation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of TIBCO suite of products (BW, BE, AS, EMS/ RV) preferably in the telecommunications services sector.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with implementing or supporting Apigee on prem or cloud.
  • Experience with Zookeeper or Cassandra as part of the Apigee platform.
  • General knowledge of UNIX operating system internals, system manager tools; account/file maintenance; user level commands and utilities.
  • General knowledge with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) and understanding of containerization (docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understands on premise or cloud enterprise infrastructure design and support.
  • Comfortable working within virtualized environments like VMware.
  • General knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages (JavaScript, .Net, Node, React, Python)
  • General knowledge of data management, storage, and tooling (RDBMS, NoSQL, data transformation)
  • General knowledge of IT troubleshooting tools such as Postman, APM, Logstash, or equivalent tools
  • Solid networking knowledge.
  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.
