Junior Library CustodianThe Junior Library Custodian's main responsibility is the cleaning and maintenance of Library buildings and grounds (including interior, exterior, and roofs), and performing custodial tasks. This is a full-time, union, non-exempt position. The hiring salary for this position is $39,062.40.Responsibilities:Make recommendations for repairs and maintenance upkeepMake minor repairs and replace equipment as requiredResponsible for room set-up and the moving of furniture and equipmentKeep inventories and records, order supplies, and prepares required reportsEnforce safety requirements and protects the building and groundsGraffiti removal, fire department inspections, multiple clean-up of grounds area, opening doors for staff, UPS, FedEx, bottled water deliveries and set-up, opening/monitoring buildings for Department of Design & Construction (DDC) and construction activities, proper recycling and sorting, garbage disposal, and will assist with Interchange and deliveries.Frequently bends, kneels & crouchesExposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, odors, dirt & dustTravel may be required between multiple locationsPerform other related work as requiredAbility to work at other locationsQualifications:A High School diploma or equivalent is requiredA minimum of at least 1 year of custodial-related experienceWorking knowledge of all custodial tasks, operations and equipmentMust meet physical and medical requirements and be able to lift moderate to heavy materialMust be able to bend, & stand for long periods of time in all weather conditionsMust be able to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 60 lbs.Ability to use and operate the tools and equipment required to perform custodial tasksAbility to work independentlyGood oral and written communication skills; ability to comprehend all safety related materials and instructionAbility to work all shifts including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays; different shifts availableMinimum Salary: 39,062.40 Maximum Salary: 39,062.40 Salary Unit: Yearly
