Company : Highmark Inc. Job Summary This position plays a vital role in supporting the Underwriting department by utilizing actuarial techniques and statistical analysis for insurance premium and pricing development, claim trend assessment, and various analytical functions that enhance profitability and client satisfaction. You will contribute to the Trusted Advisor role that the underwriting team fulfills for clients and sales personnel. Key Responsibilities Take the initiative to develop and execute strategic client studies and presentations, providing valuable insights to inform management decisions. Create compelling client presentations and analyses that leverage actuarial techniques to address insurance premiums, claims trends, and medical economics. Offer critical actuarial support to market underwriters, including insights on client risk factors, profitability, and industry dynamics. Effectively manage multiple projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables while keeping your manager updated on progress. Utilize strong communication skills to present data and support decision-making for team members and executives, balancing clarity and comprehensiveness. Perform additional duties as requested or needed. Education Required Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience as determined by the company. Experience Required A minimum of 5 years in Healthcare Underwriting or Actuarial practice, including at least 1 year of direct client interaction. Licenses or Certifications Required Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills. Self-motivated with an ability to anticipate client and management needs. Travel Required 0% - 25% Working Conditions Office Based.
