Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our team in Los Angeles. As a Mechanical Drafter, you will be responsible for creating and modifying 2D designs for architectural hardware using AutoCAD. If existing drawings are available, you will reformat and re-dimension them to meet our requirements. This is a contract position for 10-12 months, and we require a strong background in drafting and experience working with mechanical parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify 2D designs for mechanical parts using AutoCAD
  • Measure and draft parts, including shower door fittings, door handles, hinges, towel racks, and similar products
  • Reformat and re-dimension existing drawings to meet company standards
  • Collaborate with design team to ensure accurate and complete designs
  • Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality drawings
  • Utilize drafting skills to create detailed and precise drawings

Requirements:

  • Prior drafting experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Drafting certification (e.g., CAD Certification, Certified Drafter) or Associate's degree in Drafting or related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical parts and drafting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mechanical drafting for similar products (e.g., shower door fittings, door handles, hinges etc)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with CAD management and version control
