Laboratory Technician

The QA (lab) technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of chemical processes at the manufacturing site. The tech is also accountable for testing utility water, qualifying incoming raw materials, and evaluating the quality of finished products prior to release for shipment. Some of the things you will do: • Perform quality testing for production batches, distillations, utility water and quality testing of raw material and finished goods. • Demonstrate the ability to make routine choices involving quality issues. • Maintain systematic reagents. • Assure that QA tests are being run by approved QA methods. • Assure that the QA results are properly recorded. • Assure that safety guidelines for the lab are followed. • Assure that chemicals are properly labeled and stored. • Has a working knowledge of the hazards and proper handling procedures of instruments, materials, solvents and chemicals used in the laboratory • Weighs tank trucks, inspects C of A's, completes paperwork and reports to corresponding departments Qualifications: • BA or BS in science preferred, AA/AS minimum required or equivalent experience.
