ElectricianThe electrician at Charlotte Milling works hours from 6am to 2:30pm. If necessary, to ensure smooth running of the operations of the plant, the electrician may be required to work overtime or be placed on a shift system. The electrician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The electrician is required to:Troubleshoot electrical problems, carry out repair and installation work on all equipmentLocation: Mill building, Bulk and packing loadout, Grain elevator building, all other buildings and equipment on the compound, any external jobs as instructed by management that will benefit the plant operationsThe electrician will be expected to:Prepare and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all electric motors and carry out periodic checksCarry out checks on and re-calibrate scales whenever necessaryInstallation and repair of electrical equipment and machineryMonitor and maintain all electrical lightingInspect all air compressors electrical componentsWork closely with maintenance technicians and production crews to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimumEnsure that the bulk loadout and packing equipment is working efficiently and repair as neededCheck motor controls centers for various machines and service them when requiredChange motors and the belts/chains on motors as requiredService/repair/replace field devices such as sensors, limit switches and other monitoring equipmentTroubleshoot problems and effect necessary repairsRespond to call outs for electrical and other types of breakdownsRespond to requests for safety repair jobsAssist in preparing orders for machinery partsPerform any other maintenance related task which may be necessary from time to timeOther requirements:All safety gears, PPEs must worn as required and follow all safety rules and regulations. Failure to follow safety rules will result in disciplinary action up to and including terminationAttend all safety training sessionsProvide all needed hand tools (rated for electrical work).
