This position will be designing and engineering mechanical systems and subsystems that support protection for electronics in mobile/transportable systems.

*If this role does not interest you, we also have Test or CAD Designer roles available too.

Summary

  • Assesses requirements and system architecture to develop mechanical design solutions to support existing hardware limitations.
  • Build prototype, work with fabrication team, technicians and test teams to make sure meet requirements.
  • Creates system specifications and ensures mechanical interface compatibility.
  • Analyzes and resolves design compatibility issues. Use FEA as needed (nice to have)
  • Coordinates design of mechanical system and subsystems for integration into a system of systems platform.
  • Coordinates and consolidates design efforts to include requirements definitions through testing verification.
  • Experience in transitioning completed designs into fabrication activities.
  • Conducts independent technical investigations including failure analysis and determination of root cause.
  • Interfacing with customers to include requirements clarification, providing technical status and delivering design presentations as required.
  • Developmental and qualification testing to include providing input to test plans and procedures, conducting testing evolutions and correcting deficiencies.

Experience:

  • BS Mechanical Preferred with 5+ years
  • HS Diploma or AAS with 9+ years
  • Experience designing/engineering mechanical enclosure systems for hardware using COTS
  • Experience with SATCOM, radios, etc.
  • Inventor or Solidworks preferred
  • Hardware Integration
