Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our platform infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Unix/Linux systems administration, shell scripting, and a deep understanding of containerization technologies, specifically Openshift and Kubernetes.


The Role

Responsibilities:


  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable platform infrastructure based on Openshift and Kubernetes.
  • Develop and optimize automation scripts using Unix/Linux shell scripting to streamline platform operations and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, working closely with development and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and deploy them effectively on the platform.
  • Monitor platform performance and resource utilization, implementing optimization strategies as needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Openshift Container Platform and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of SQL databases and query optimization.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, etc.) and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.


It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, etc.).


Additional Information: The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with TX and PA law, the base salary for this role if filled within TX and PA, is $130K-$140K/year & benefits (see below).
