About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Project Engineering to build out and lead their project engineering team. This team is responsible for managing the detailed engineering and construction of multiple industrial wastewater treatment facilities annually at c. $250MN in total project value across 10 to 15 projects.


You will work closely with the process engineering team, which will provide the basis-of-design and define the process flow. Additionally, you will coordinate with the development team, project managers, and the operations team.


Main Focus


Lead and expand a team to develop construction documents by leveraging engineering consultants and design-build partners.

Coordinate with internal process engineers to deliver and integrate design documents with design-build partners according to project schedules.

Develop, document, and implement engineering standards, equipment specifications, and construction details that align with the companies operational needs.

Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of IFC document packages to identify scope gaps and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

Analyze existing processes and facility designs to identify value-engineering opportunities that improve safety, efficiency, robustness, constructability, and lifecycle cost.

Provide engineering support to construction managers and design-build partners during the construction phase.


Your background

  • Extensive experience in the detailed engineering and construction of process plants, particularly wastewater treatment facilities, is required.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, or a related engineering field
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in project design and engineering, preferably focused on municipal/industrial wastewater projects
