About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Data Architect to join our team and lead the design and implementation of large-scale data platforms.


As a Chief Data Architect, you will be working with business stakeholders, data engineers, and database administrators. Your major goal is to build a future proof dependable and scalable data architecture that allows for data storage, retrieval, and analysis. You will also be responsible for data security, compliance, and quality while staying up to date on emerging technologies and best practices.


What You'll Do:

  • Architect and design the Data Platforms by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to define the technical architecture and design of the platform that supports advanced data governance, data observability, data discovery, and data sharing
  • Develop scalable and reliable data infrastructure: Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance data infrastructure components, including data pipelines, data storage, and data processing systems, to support real time and near real time business KPIs
  • Ensure data security and privacy: Incorporate best practices and industry standards for data security and privacy into the platform architecture, including encryption, access controls, and data anonymization techniques, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protect sensitive data.
  • Drive platform integration and interoperability: Define and implement integration strategies and standards to enable seamless interoperability with existing systems and external platforms, ensuring smooth data exchange and compatibility between different software services.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies: Research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools in the data engineering space, making informed recommendations on the adoption of new technologies that enhance the capabilities and performance of the federated data mesh platform.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and collaborate with other architects and stakeholders to provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the field of GenAI, data governance, and data engineering, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the platform.


Expertise You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Data Architect: Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms.
  • Architect Certifications – Azure Solution Architect or Databricks Architect or Snowflake Architect
  • Knowledge of data modelling tools such as Erwin, IBM Data Architect, or Microsoft Visio is required.
  • Knowledge of ETL methods and technologies (for example, Apache NiFi, Talend, and Informatica).
  • Experience in using various architecture patters i.e. N-tier, Event Based, Micro Services etc
  • Knowledge of Data Governance: Understanding data governance principles, data security, and regulatory compliance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline is necessary. A master’s degree is preferable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required to build effective data solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to work with cross-functional teams and convert business objectives into technical solutions.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering: Extensive knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data modelling, data integration, data storage, and data processing, with hands-on experience in implementing large-scale data infrastructure.
  • Expertise in creating data models that specify how data is formatted, stored, and retrieved inside an organization. This comprises data models that are conceptual, logical, and physical.
  • Collaborating with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and align architecture with business objectives.
  • Establishing processes for monitoring and improving the quality of data within the organization.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake etc) and related services for data storage, compute, and analytics, with the ability to design and implement solutions leveraging cloud-native technologies.
