One of the leading companies in the construction industry is seeking a Director Human Resources to join their team The Director of Human Resources will be tasked with strategizing and overseeing Human Resources activities, encompassing the implementation and administration of policies, benefits, compensation, wellness initiatives, compliance and reporting, data and analytics, as well as HRIS management. The Director will also manage a small HR team, providing leadership, guidance and mentorship to foster a high performance HR department. The compensation range for this role is $125k-145k


Responsibilities of the Director of Human Resources:

  • Formulate Human Resource strategies and guide the HR team to ensure the successful execution of departmental projects and initiatives, maintaining a consistent emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Drive the development and growth of HR team members through continuous learning opportunities and day-to-day guidance. Fulfill the role of a coach and mentor, ensuring that employees have the necessary support and resources to perform at their maximum potential.
  • Supervise and/or administer various human resource programs, including, but not limited to, benefits, compensation, leaves of absence, disciplinary matters, investigations, productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices. Review and adjust policies and practices to uphold compliance.
  • Continuous knowledge of regulatory changes, technologies in human resources, talent management, and stay up-to-date with employment law.
  • Collaborate closely with executives and senior management to align HR policies and practices with both short-term and long-term organizational and operational goals.
  • Take the lead on staff-focused projects, including talent evaluation, development of leadership succession plans, benefit plan and compensation reviews, and refining onboarding and offboarding processes in collaboration with the HR team.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with leaders in the Human Resources department, such as Learning & Development and Recruiting.
  • Continuously enhance, tailor, and troubleshoot within the HRIS system to streamline processes, reduce clerical work, and ensure employees have a positive user experience.
  • Fulfill the role of the company's 401(k) administrator, compliance officer, and benefit plan administrator. Supervise the HR team in providing day-to-day benefits support to employees.
  • Liaise with the Payroll department and collaborate on shared responsibilities.
  • Oversee the Office Services team, managing company events, volunteering opportunities, and the day-to-day maintenance of the corporate office.


Requirements of the Director of Human Resources:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a business-related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding proficiency in written and verbal communication, interpersonal relations, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Adept at efficient time management, multitasking, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
