Wythe Hotel, located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a 69-room independently owned and operated boutique Hotel, recently recognized with a MICHELIN Key distinction.

Our amenities include; Le Crocodile, a renowned French brasserie featured in the NY Times Top 100 restaurants list, Bar Blondeau, a rooftop lounge, and over 6,000 sq. ft. of versatile event space.


We are looking for an experienced, proactive seller to join the team as our Director of Group Sales, and to focus on growing our Corporate Group business.

The primary objective of Wythe Hotel is taking great personal responsibility to assure that every guest that is dining with us, staying with us, or visiting with us has a FANTASTIC and MEMORABLE time. We will go to great lengths to guarantee that every guest has an experience that is effortless and puts them at tremendous ease. If we’ve succeeded in these objectives, our guests, when they are far away, will desire to come back again, and again.



Job Responsibilities/ Essential Functions


Responsibilities include soliciting existing/potential accounts and business generators to contribute to the hotel's overall Group Corporate Revenue for guestrooms and meetings/events. Working with provided tools, and with any other resources, the ideal candidate must energetically and constantly be introducing new clients to Wythe, and converting leads into contracts.

The Director of Group Sales must be able to communicate effectively and graciously with the Sales team, clients and management, be a motivated self-starter, be looking for clear direction and constructive feedback. They must turn up every day with a desire to contribute to the success of the property and the entire company.


Our Events business at Wythe is built on providing a high level of personal attention and service.

The new Director of Group Sales must always strive to provide exceptional service to every client, ensuring that each decision is made with the clients best interests at the forefront.


The Director of Group Sales will be expected to;

  • Solicit new and existing Group accounts through business development, email solicitation, outside calls, and other means to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Participate in sales presentations, trade shows, property site inspections, and customer meetings.



  • Lead client tours and walkthroughs.
  • Interact, cooperate and collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure client experience is seamless.
  • Work with the Director of Commercial Strategy to develop sales strategies for the group corporate segment to secure group business for the hotel. Execute these strategies successfully.
  • Review strategy plan on a monthly basis to ensure it is up to date and adjust for changes with market conditions
  • Quarterly Action Plans to be created that tie into the annual Sales & Marketing plan and market conditions
  • Provide group production forecast and current sales pipeline on a weekly basis in revenue meetings
  • Ensure Department Heads have the Group Resumes in a timely manner and provide accurate BEO's
  • Work with Director of Marketing on any group offers/e-blasts/outreach campaigns that need to be created
  • Prepare any sales reporting needed by Ownership or Management
  • Attend department and property meetings as needed
  • Perform general office duties and assist other personnel as required
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff, managers, corporate staff and ownership
  • The Director of Group Sales reports directly to the Director of Commercial Strategy


Qualifications

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • 4-5 years hotel sales experience
  • Experienced and capable of sophisticated prospecting and building new business - this position is expected to be actively selling and prospecting every day
  • Demonstrate creative thinking, commitment to goals, energy, drive and professionalism.
  • Maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
  • Familiarity with current systems (tripleseat, Mews, Apollo) and/or comfortable with learning new systems
  • In person 5 days a week 


Salary: $100-125k Annually
