CAPEX Project Manager


Role Type: Freelance W2

Contract Length: 12 Months+


SciPro are currently assisting a client with their search for a Project Manager to join them on an initial 12-month project in Nebraska. There is the strong chance of either an extension or moving into a permanent position from this.


The Role


  • Effectively align with stakeholders to meet expectations and business needs (including budget, schedule, scope, quality, safety, documentation, communication, etc.)
  • Establish and lead effective cross functional project teams.
  • Create aggressive yet achievable project execution plans.
  • Lead and manage external engineering partners to deliver on project design and system performance.
  • Predictive and proactive actions to project risks including mitigation plans, communication, continuous monitoring, etc.
  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects to ensure project portfolio success.
  • Ensure that capital projects are planned and executed according to the project model.


Requirements


  • B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or strongly related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience minimum in Project Management working directly with external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience minimum managing a broad base of project activities including design, procurement, project scheduling, controlling budgets, knowledge of fabrication, construction, and commissioning
  • Knowledge and understanding of capital project management processes.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and collaborate locally and globally.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated to pursue initiatives and able to prioritize tasks and time is critical.
  • Occasional travel may be required and is dependent on the region's approved investment portfolio.
