TekPro, a direct hire recruiting agency specializing in the manufacturing sector, is collaborating with a leading company to find a highly qualified Engineering Standards and Validation Manager. This role involves leading efforts to standardize technical processes and procedures, optimizing engineering activities, and ensuring product compliance. The successful candidate will guide the Engineering Standards and Validation (ESV) team to enhance productivity and support the company's technical guidelines for design and manufacturing.


Purpose and Scope:


The Engineering Standards and Validation Manager will establish standards for the engineering department and the company, develop tools and automation, and create training programs to deliver top-notch technical support. This role includes managing daily activities, setting project priorities, and ensuring the adherence of in-production products to technical specifications both domestically and globally


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with Applications and Design Engineering managers to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Manage the daily operations of the department and allocate resources to support business needs.
  • Assess project validity and prioritize those with the highest yield for timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain systems that enhance "Front-end" throughput efficiencies, focusing on tools for selection and manufacturing best practices.
  • Ensure in-production products meet all technical specifications and standards.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to develop strategic cost-reduction plans to support internal profit goals.
  • Implement best practices for Root Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Actions for product or process failures.
  • Manage and document all aspects of in-production products, including features, options, and accessories.
  • Control and develop all technical standards, resources, and information.
  • Support quality and manufacturing efforts to resolve order fulfillment issues and meet shipment commitments.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing as the primary engineering expert on in-production product strategies and campaigns.
  • Interface with the parent company and other group companies on all in-production products.
  • Partner proactively with Operations and Manufacturing teams to ensure product quality.
  • Maintain team KPIs and metrics aligned with company goals.



Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Ten (10) years of experience in product engineering or product development.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement best practices; Green Belt level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of motors, brake-motors, motor standards (such as UL, MG1, CSA), and motor design and manufacture.
  • Knowledge of other rotating equipment, such as gearboxes, is preferred.
  • Previous managerial experience required.
  • Strong knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge; PMP Certification preferred.
  • Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as outlined in the company's HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
