Construction Engineer - Wisconsin - Immediate Opening with Sign-on Bonus


M Squared Engineering is seeking a motivated, energetic, self-directed Construction Engineer with 1-8 years of construction inspection experience with WisDOT and Municipal projects for a position in our Cedarburg, WI office. Tasks & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a Construction Inspector for WisDOT and local municipal projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with construction plan and contract requirements and maintaining documentation to support construction activities.
  • Perform construction management, inspection, and testing activities on various infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee all activities required, including field inspection, testing, document control/document management, maintaining schedules, and other related activities.
  • Monitor project budgets and oversee inspection staff when applicable.
  • Perform constructability reviews of design plans.
  • Assist with developing construction cost estimates for various types of infrastructure projects.
  • Willingness to take on new and unique tasks.
  • Provide a positive attitude towards clients and the public.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil or Construction Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of construction inspection experience in transportation or municipal projects.
  • Familiar with construction inspection principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work cohesively as a team to meet project and company objectives.
  • Prior construction management or inspection experience on WisDOT projects is preferred.
