As a Production Controller II at KARL STORZ, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be at the crossroads of multiple departments, orchestrating the flow of materials, resources, and schedules to meet the dynamic needs of our sales, marketing, and service teams.

What You’ll Be Doing 

 

  • Collaborate with Operations: Partner with various teams to ensure smooth production and proactively address issues to prevent delays. 
  • Manage Work Orders: Schedule and release work orders, track progress, and communicate any production delays across departments. 
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work with Engineering, the Machine Shop, and Service teams to ensure tooling requests are met and production schedules remain on track. 
  • Support Engineering Changes: Lead the implementation of Engineering Changes (ECs) and make critical decisions related to Production Control. 
  • Inventory Management: Analyze inventory for excess and obsolescence, making key decisions on material disposition. 
  • MRP Forecasting: Review and maintain data for forecasted component parts, adjusting production schedules as needed to optimize material and labor use. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvement projects aimed at enhancing product and service quality. 

 

What You Bring 

 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in using MRP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with knowledge of medical device quality systems such as FDA regulations and ISO standards. 
  • A college degree is preferred, along with at least 2+ years of Production Control experience or relevant experience demonstrating strong aptitude. 

 

Physical & Mental Requirements 

 

  • Ability to lift, up to, 20 lbs., stand on the production floor, and work at a computer for extended periods. 

 

Training Requirements 

 

  • Safety, regulatory compliance, and ISO standards training are required annually.
