Admissions and Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Admissions and Business Development Specialist to join our team. As an Admissions and Business Development Specialist, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our university. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the overall strategic planning of the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of program specific marketing and recruitment strategies. Attends career fairs and health fairs to market and recruit for assigned program(s). Plans and coordinates informational workshops, college visits and tours, business and industry visits, etc., to inform the public about educational opportunities within an assigned program. Creates and distributes brochures, promotional fliers, and related material.
  • Assists program admissions & business development services. Works with program(s) to interpret policies and to develop appropriate procedures for implementation. Reviews admissions forms, refers prospective students to placement testing or advising. Provides admissions counseling to prospective students. Coordinates with campus admissions office and central enrollment services to facilitate consistent delivery of admissions services. Participates in new student orientations.
  • Provides a general program advising incoming students. Reviews transcripts and assists students in developing an educational plan. Maintains student files for specific college requirements including general education credits and competencies prior to graduation. May participate in initial screening of students. May override placement based on evaluation and supporting documentation.
  • May coordinate directed practice for participating programs. Recruits and secures work sites and placement of students. Processes paperwork, maintains contracts, and coordinates student insurance requirements. Make on-site student visits.
  • Maintains database for assigned programs. Tracks statistics, gathers data, and writes reports. Assists departments in developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures relating to admissions based on past processes and student success rates.
  • Provides support to Student Services Division to promote retention and academic success.
  • Collaborate with University President in the development and implementation of institutional policies and procedures for Student Services Department.
  • Provides office coordination responsibilities. Works with office support staff in coordinating all clerical and student help. Oversees day-to-day issues.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of direct experience working in the admissions/business development functional area in a college or university setting.
  • Experience of working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus within a university or higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.

 

Language Skills

  • Proficient communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written) required.
