PT Asset Management (PTAM) is seeking a Structured Credit Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team. We are pursuing quick learners with professional presence. This role is responsible for assisting the portfolio management team in analyzing economic, financial, and legal documents to make investment decisions for PTAM’s funds. The Analyst will be tasked with preparing internal reports for the portfolio management team while simultaneously learning the various asset classes the firm invests in. Further, the Analyst will prepare information for client presentations and marketing purposes. The Structured Credit Analyst position is an opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to develop a career in investment management and work intimately with the portfolio management team as part of the decision-making process.


Responsibilities


·      Research and evaluate the fixed income market with a focus on structured products including Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities, Collateralized Loan Obligations and Asset-Backed Securities

·      Analyze legal documents of complex structures, aggregate and process large amounts of collateral data, and model cashflows

·      Monitor and assist in the risk management of the portfolios

·      Collect and collate data on a monthly and ad hoc basis to disseminate to the portfolio management team, sales, marketing, and other stakeholders 

·      Liaise with IT and operations to automate reports and streamline tasks

 

Qualifications


·      2+ years of experience with relevant course work from a reputable undergraduate college in finance, math, accounting, economics, or other quantitative fields

·      Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate and communicate effectively

·      A desire to learn from an experienced investment team and a willingness to contribute to a team focused investment process

·      Discipline to analyze large amounts of financial data and the ability to synthesize data into usable financial metrics

·      Capable of prioritizing multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic environment

·      Willingness to pitch in wherever needs arise

·      Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

·      Coding experience in VBA or Python would be helpful
