Location: 100% Remote, based out Troy, Michigan

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the technology and software industry, is seeking an senior SQL DBA, to join their growing team You'll be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations and management of enterprise-level production database systems, both on-premise and in the cloud. This role will work closely with R&D leaders to provide guidance, develop DB standards, and create data governance policies.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought leader on migrating from SQL Server to other DB technologies
  • Setup and optimize SQL Server standard and SQL AG
  • Setup SQL AG to scale as multi-tenant in the cloud
  • Perform manual as well as scheduled/automated backups and restores of Production and non-production databases.
  • Utilize industry standard tools, cloud service provider native portals and features, and/or other third-party client approved tools necessary to provide operations, maintenance, and migration support services.
  • Troubleshoot complex SQL queries and problems,
  • Provide incident support and analysis services
  • Provide log and error reporting information to colleagues, customers and support organizations as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, software engineering, or similar degree, or comparable work experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a DBA -- SQL Server and cloud experience a must, AWS preferred
  • Well versed in DB cloud technologies and ability to provide leadership and guidance to others
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of database focused engineers
  • Ability to work with leaders across R&D to develop database best practices and governance
