POSITION TYPE: Year-round, hourly plus benefits, Group 1

PAY RATE: starting at $18/hr (DOE)

SUPERVISED BY: Marketing Communications Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Schweitzer Marketing team is seeking an outgoing person with a passion for winter sports, outdoor recreation and Schweitzer. Someone looking for a foot in the door of a fun career in the outdoor recreation marketing industry. The position will assist in a diverse range of duties including (but not limited to) copywriting, social media, asset management, industry research, website support, special events support and partnerships support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support the marketing team with copywriting for advertising, website, social media posts, app pushes and e-newsletters.
  • Proofread creative for advertising as well as other marketing channels as assigned.
  • Review/audit the website (and app) for accuracy, make copy updates and conduct biannual page reviews of the full website.
  • Help monitor social media, manage comment responses, guest messages and reviews for all Schweitzer outlets.
  • Work with the creative team to keep track of shot lists, organize/tag content libraries and coordinate photo requests.
  • Organize and coordinate small scale resort photo/video shoots.
  • Stay up to date on trends, technology and the outdoor/hospitality industry and keep the rest of the team apprised of "what's new & trending".
  • Analyze competitor products, promotions, and advertising to inform and improve marketing strategies.
  • Partner with the Marketing team and the Special Events Manager to fulfill resort sponsorship requirements/reporting with a variety of brands around the resort.
  • Support cross-functional needs with resort business units.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

SKILLS: Outgoing personality, strong organizational, interpersonal communication, written and verbal skills. Photography and/or videography skills a plus. Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Outlook, Teams and Sharepoint desired. Self-starter with high energy and desire to have a positive impact on the business and brand. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge and passion for the outdoor recreation industry.

EXPERIENCE: This is an entry level position, but experience with marketing, writing, and the outdoor recreation industry desired. Advanced ski or snowboard experience required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, related field or relevant experience.

LICENSE NEEDED: Valid driver's license, insurable by Schweitzer.

MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Computer, digital video camera, digital SLR camera, and other office equipment.

AGE: Must be at least 21 years of age.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to lift 20 lbs or more. Standing for extended periods of time. Strong skiing and/or snowboarding skills in all conditions. Willing to be outside in all weather conditions including adverse, severe winter weather. Some accommodations available.

REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated after the first six months of employment and on an annual basis.
